Steve Aoki Is Going Into Politics

Posted in April 17, 2015 by Jonathan Villicaña

Steve Aoki seems to be able to jump into a million different projects and do whatever he wants. The latest realm that he is taking EDM to is into politics. The Major of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, just invited Steve Aoki to create “LAoki,” a free concert that will take place in the center of LA on May 16th. However, this show is not for everyone. To get an invite you must volunteer with the Mayor’s Volunteer Corps. This is a limited event, so if you want to go you have to register pretty quickly!

It looks like Aoki has already become best buds with the officials of Los Angeles by taking pictures like the one below. Would you be surprised if Aoki became the first DJ President? I don’t think we would be surprised, he can do everything! Even if he doesn’t run for office in the future hopefully there will be more events like this in the future all around the world.

If the photo wasn’t enough for you then watch this video to get more details about the show. In addition, see how the major approves this message. It looks like Aoki is officially taking over.

LA, I love you. With my album coming out next month, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Neon Future II and thank the city I love than with a FREE concert on the streets of my hometown on May 16th!! Get tickets by simply signing up to learn more about community service from Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Volunteer Corps 🙂 #LAoki
